The Search Is On

Happy Monday, everyone!

Mark and I started looking for a house this weekend. We are both very excited, slightly overwhelmed, and hoping to find the perfect house for us some time this century.

I thought all of you bloggy people out there might have some tips - what to do, what not to do, and I'm all about taking in information. Please share! What would you do differently? What did you do that you loved?

As I find houses I love, I'll post them. So get excited. (-:

  4. finding a house is the best part of the buying a home process! And yes, please post pics! My only advice is to be picky. We were and we waited a very long time and we're so happy now that we didn't settle. Good luck!

  5. My Beau and I are also looking at houses (he has been for months - before he & I became a "we"). It is indeed a daunting process but tons of fun! Good luck!!!!

  6. How very exciting! We "built" a modular home, and I'm so glad we did. WE got just about everything we wanted in floorplan, and a new house to boot (so there weren't any huge expenses right off the bat-and we KNEW the history of everything). I'm getting antsy to move again, and would definitely consider doing the same thing. Can't wait to see what you find! Hope you're feeling back to 100% by now!

  7. I agree with Breezy Scott - take your time and be picky!

And think about the things you will need between now and the time you plan to sell the house. I know you aren't thinking about it now but think about what kind of house and neighborhood you will want have kids in.

Pay attention to all the little details that are often overlooked, like cabinets, closets, tiled surfaces, flooring, etc. We both brought our dads in to check out the house before closing because we were new to the whole home-ownership thing.

    Good luck! :)
